Eburones

Gallic tribe. One of their princes was Ambiorix; he and Prince Catuvolcus lead a revolt against the Roman occupation in 54 BCE. Though they destroyed the legion near Aduatuca, the rebellion was quashed, and the land of the Eburones destroyed. Catuvolcus committed suicide by swallowing poision, but Ambiorix and a few companions escaped Caesar's troops.
