The Fly By Night project was an attempt at creating theater in a 24-hour period. Writers, actors, and directors would meet late on Friday night (usually between 8 and 10), and divide into groups: usually six groups with three actors, one director, and usually one (but occasionally two) writer(s). The writer would be given two words which s/he had to use in the play, and usually had to build the them of the play around those words. The groups then split up, with the writer producing a short play (usually around ten minutes in length), which the director and actors would rehearse until showtime, 24 hours after the group first met.

Sometimes successful, sometimes not, it was always interesting. A similar project is The GOT
