TWELVE PLANETS!

Ladies and gentlemen, it's (almost) official: there are now twelve planets in the solar system: Pluto, it's binary planet (formarly thought to be a moon) Charon, Ceres, and 2003 UB313, commonly known by the nickname Xena (which will undoubtedly change, probably to something like Prospertina, but they haven't decided). Pluto, Charon, and "Xena" will be the first listed planets in a new category, the pluton.

There are also twelve candidates for planet status: 2003 EL61, 2005 FY9, Sedna, Orcus, Quaoar, 2002 TX300, 2002 AW197, Varuna, Ixion, Vesta, Pallas, and Hygeia.

Finally, there's a new weird object out there--"planemos". These are giant gas objects, larger than Jupiter, but circling each other, not stars.

God, I hope this isn't a hoax.
